The "Bluies" are Back..

Giant sycamore leaves are floating and blowing down the street this morning as I walk toward the lagoon.

Must be close to December as I notice my favorite duck of the year, the scaup, with their bright white wings and blue bills. Those in the know call them "Bluies". I am reminded that people hunted ducks from their boats, hiding themselves with palm leaf blinds off Oak Street before the lagoons were formed.

Facades

Until I saw this building on Blanding, I didn't believe that recent building took the time and effort that was given the early buildings that I've found over in Oakland or San Francisco.

Walking along Geary and it's environs this week I marveled at the detail and intricacy of most of the facades on the old buildings of San Francisco. Imagine the work that went into the creation of these.
