The other day we were visiting our favorite Easter House and my sister commented on how wonderful people are to try to make other people happy by decorating their homes. He then invited us inside his large Victorian and showed us a stained glass window from inside, as it's beautiful could only be visible from within.
What a sight! In memory of his mother, the window contained some objects she loved hidden in its puzzled colored pieces including an artichoke and violets. Hollyhocks in the most beautiful shades of red and water dripping from a fountain where the glass itself flowed in a downward direction.
He was a craftsman who had created the roof of his living room which reminded me of the spectacular ceilings brought in from Europe by William Randolph Hearst at San Simeon, built in bookcases and hidden shelving.
Yes, people can make others happy by sharing their treasures.
