"Bluies" are back!

and Going....

We always called them "bluies" because of their blue bills, these dear little ducks are my favorite.  I usually see them in December on our local lagoon but this year, they arrived just last week.   Actually their are called Lesser Scaups.  (Double click to see the blue bills).

Did you hear it?   If you are lucky enough to walk around our "City Center" near Oak and Central at noon each day, you will be treated with the beautiful bell concert coming from the First Methodist Church our oldest Alameda church.  Today, among others, I was treated to the "Hymn to Joy" by Beethoven.
